Workdays will be every weekend in May, this year, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join your neighbors and cemetery families to clean up the cemetery and get it ready for Memorial Day. We’ll be weeding, pruning, and doing general cleanup.

Things to bring: your favorite gardening tools, gloves, hats, drinking water and snacks, and your friends! If you have a truck or trailer and are willing to haul stuff, we could particularly use your help — please let us know when you’re available. And please leave herbicides and pesticides at home.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you!

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been hosting Easter services in the cemetery for six years now! As has become traditional, we’ll get together up at the Mulkey at 7 a.m. on Easter morning (it’s April 9, this year) for a nondenominational service led by the Rev. Rebecca Hazen. Afterward we’ll have hot drinks and pastries. We hope you’ll join us for what’s become a neighborhood tradition.

We’re also planning workdays for weekends in May. As you may be aware, our current cemetery board president, Ann Field, is currently undergoing cancer treatment and her doctors have told her she can’t do any gardening for the next year. We’re counting on Mulkey families and community members to pitch in and help “fill the gap” with all the work Ann would normally do. Can you help out? Mark your calendar now for a weekend in May, and let us know when you’ll be able to come and what tools or equipment you’re able to bring (if you have access to a pickup that can haul debris down to Rexius, that is always a big help). Thanks!
